Missions and Outreach
Below are our commitments and goals corresponding to missions and outreach, as we (NBC) pursue obedience to the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18).
Missions
Purpose
​To actively engage in and support the spread of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, in obedience to His Word and under His sovereign authority (Matt. 28:18), so the elect hear the gospel and embrace Christ (2 Tim. 2:10; Acts 13:48), so that true worship and obedient faith may resound to the everlasting glory of the Father (John 4:24; Rev. 5:9–14), through Christ (2 Cor. 4:6), by the power of the Holy Spirit (Phil. 3:3) within our sphere of influence as individuals and a local body.
Objectives

To strengthen the relationship of the congregation to our supported missionaries.

Regularly present the ministry of our missionaries to the church body.

Develop a comprehensive plan of engagement with our missionaries and the congregation

Plan, promote, and organize short-term missions trips

Actively and intelligently pray for the work and lives of our missionary families
Short Term Missions
Purpose
To encourage and support ministries either in direct relationship with Newtown Bible Church, or consistent with our statement of faith and missions purpose statement.
Objectives

To strengthen NBC’s relationship with supported missionaries and/or missions agencies

To support the work of the missionary as they deem most effective by providing extra manpower and resources for ministry opportunities

To expand the view of God’s work in the world and love for people globally among our own congregation.

To increase the desire for evangelism and outreach within our own local community
Outreach
Purpose
To seek opportunities to engage our community and local areas with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Objectives

Think strategically and actively pursue outreach opportunities

Pray regularly for our community

Provide opportunities for evangelism training
